Plan Your Visit
The State Black Archives Research Center & Museum is open to visitors and researchers both by appointment and during public hours.
Request an appointment (click here)
If you are unable to visit during typical open hours, please request an appointment. We are unable to accommodate archival research requests at this time.
Public Hours
SBARCM is subject to the closures (holiday, inclement weather, etc.) of Alabama A&M University. It is also located at the top of "The Hill" on campus, which can be treacherous in icy conditions. Any unexpected closures will be announced on social media. Please check for closures before visiting.

Parking
SBARCM has limited parking near the building. We can reserve spots if you notify us ahead of time.
(You also have the option to park in the University commuter lot at the Meridian and Drake intersection and walk all the way up the hill, but this is not for the faint of heart and generally not suggested for guests of SBARCM.)
