Our Mission

As an Archive:

Obtain, preserve, conserve, and hold materials on Alabama's African American history and culture related to achievements and general experiences;

As a Research Center:

Make materials on African American history and culture in Alabama available to students, scholars, and others seeking materials for educational and cultural purposes;

As a Museum:

Display materials on African Americans in such a manner as to enhance the general public awareness of African American history and culture in Alabama.
