Community-Driven History

SBARCM strives to discuss the experiences, contributions, and resilience of Black Alabamians. It does so through active partnerships with local communities, donors, researchers, participants, and scholars. These relationships create a constantly growing and experiential space that values community-driven content and input.

Collection Development

SBARCM sets criteria for acquisitions and separations of material donated to the repository. These decisions are based on applicability of materials to the overall mission of the repository, as well as available resources. A collection development plan outlining criteria can be provided upon request.
